Melbourne’s visual identity and its application

Melbourne is a dynamic and progressive city. It is internationally renowned for its diversity, spirit of innovation and sustainability. Since the adoption of its old visual identity, Melbourne has gone through some significant changes. Those changes resulted in a slew of independent logos that were too expensive and complicated to manage across different areas of interest. That’s why a uniform solution that covered all logo needs had to be found. Melbourne hired Landor – a multinational brand consulting company, for help with development of a visual identity that would be easy to manage and that would unite all of the previously divided aspects of the city’s identity. The results of this extraordinary project were unveiled in 2009.
